Thank you, Cathy!

Surprizes, the good ones, happen few and far between in my daily existence and when it does, it is just so nice!

I choose to believe in the goodness of people and although I know for a fact that there are those that will use, abuse, take for granted and generally be selfish and unkind, I still choose to believe that the majority of the human species are good, kind and generous.  Many times people have said to me that I live in an illusion and that more people will abuse my kindness than those that won’t, and yes, I have been let down more times that I wish to remember, but I still choose to believe in the goodness of people.

When I first opened the bed and breakfast, I knew absolutely nothing and didn’t think it such a big deal but, boy oh boy was I wrong.  There was so much more to this industry than what I possibly could have imagined.  Learning through trial and error, asking advice from those that had been in this industry for a long time, realizing very quickly that answers were not as forthcoming as I hoped but there were also those that shared their knowledge and I was immensely grateful.  As time went by I learned, became sure of myself, and hopefully by referring bookings to the kind B&B owners who shared their knowledge, repaid their kindness towards me.

A Year or so ago I was introduced to Cathy and she indicated that she was in the process of opening Zareba B&B.  She looked as lost and overwhelmed as I remembered myself to be.  Understanding exactly how she felt, I shared my knowledge and gave advice when she asked for it without expecting anything in return as I do believe there is enough sunshine for all of us.

Yesterday, Cathy phoned confirming that I was at home and said she would see me a little later.  Always happy to see friends I awaited her arrival and when she did she brought with her the biggest, yummiest Greek chocolate cake that I had ever seen.  The cake her thank you for all I have done, taught and shared with her.

Thank you Cathy of Zareba B&B for this kind gesture, it meant so much more to me than you realized!
